Description
These courses teach learners practical, hands-on skills in Linux and storage technologies, guiding them from beginner-friendly desktops to professional storage management and enterprise Linux administration.
MINT
Many users reach a point where Windows feels limiting and start looking for an operating system that is simpler, more secure, and even a bit more elegant. Linux Mint offers exactly that—especially for beginners.
In this course, the instructor walks learners through the entire process of installing and configuring Linux Mint. The training starts from the ground up, requiring no previous Linux experience. Participants will learn how to prepare their system for installation, create a bootable USB drive, and verify hardware compatibility before moving forward.
ZFS
This course introduces learners to Oracle ZFS technology. It shows how ZFS—now open source—can be used to build powerful, efficient, and professional storage systems that handle modern business needs while keeping things simple and low-risk. Learners will understand how to build their own storage system, similar to a commercial one.
This course uses open-source Linux throughout, so learners should already have a basic understanding of Linux administration. By the end of the course, learners will understand ZFS well and be able to create, set up, and manage their own professional storage system.
OpenSUSE
This course helps IT professionals and anyone interested in Linux gain confidence and hands-on skills. Learners will gain the skills to work with the command line and handle SUSE Linux tasks using YaST.
Learners will gain practical experience with fundamental tasks, including network configuration, software and repository management through YaST, navigating Man and Info pages, accessing Help and Release Notes, and much more. The course also emphasizes automating and scripting everyday tasks, with numerous live demonstrations that show how to use BASH commands effectively.
After completing this course, learners will gain the fundamental Linux skills required to manage and perform administrative tasks on SUSE Linux Enterprise systems. These foundational skills, combined with those taught in the SUSE Linux Enterprise Administration course, help prepare learners for the Novell certification exam and enhance overall efficiency in IT operations.
