Description

Learning character sculpting can be a challenging and time-consuming process when attempted alone. This course guides students through all the essential tools and concepts of sculpting, simplifying the learning journey. Participants will create a fully posed character suitable for collectibles and 3D printing from initial planning and blocking to sculpting detailed objects that bring the character to life. Along the way, learners will discover workflow tips and shortcuts that accelerate progress while reinforcing the fundamentals of 3D sculpting.

Additionally, the course provides a strong foundation in ZBrush's latest hard-surface sculpting features. Students will sculpt an industry-standard sci-fi helmet from scratch, learning to establish complex details efficiently. The course demonstrates multiple approaches to using live booleans, including mesh extraction and array methods, to block out and refine shapes quickly. Learners will also understand the advantages and limitations of clip curve brushes versus trim curve brushes, and master the ZBrush chisel brush along with its interaction with morph targets.
